It is South Island but not on the west coast.
I'm near where the actual foot track starts up to a high point.

That's correct, John. The water in the foreground is Sandwood Loch, and in the background is Sandwood Bay.

It's often the last campsite for Walkers on the Cape Wrath Trail before they reach Cape Wrath and the lighthouse.
